Sulzbach is a town and a municipality in the district of Saarbrucken, in Saarland, Germany. It is situated approximately 10 kilometers northeast of Saarbrucken. Saarland is one of the 16 states of Germany and its capital is Saarbrucken. It has an area of 2570 square kilometers and 1.08 million inhabitants. In both area and population it is the smallest of the German area states that is those that are not city states. The state borders France in the south and west, Luxembourg in the west and Rheinland-Pfalz in the north and the east.

It is named after the Saar River, which is a tributary of the Moselle River and runs through the state from the south to the northwest. Most inhabitants live in a city agglomeration on the French border, surrounding the capital of Saarbrucken. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and gain enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times.
