Raunheim (Hesse)

Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. The North Sea and the Baltic Sea represent additional National Borders in the North. The official language of Germany is German and Berlin is the capital.

The climate is quite pleasant with almost all variety of seasonal flavors as temperate, marine, cool, cloudy, wet winters and summers, occasional warm, tropical foehn wind and high relative humidity. Germany is divided into 16 states which are further subdivided into 439 districts and cities. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.

Raunheim is a town in Gross-Gerau district in Hesse, Germany and a part of the Frankfurt Urban Region as well as the Frankfurt Rhein-Main Region. Raunheim lies in the Frankfurt Rhein-Main Region between Frankfurt am Main and Mainz on the south bank of the Main, 3 kilometers northeast of Russelsheim. Raunheim borders in the north on the towns of Hattersheim am Main and Kelsterbach, in the east on the district-free city of Frankfurt am Main, in the south on the town of Russelsheim, and in the west on the town of Florsheim am Main.

The town's advantageous location on the Main and near the airport and Autobahn led to quick growth after the Second World War and its becoming an important industrial location. Several thousand jobs are set to arise soon on the former Caltex refinery's old lands. Being near the airport is not an advantage in every way, since Raunheim lies on the airport approach. With certain wind conditions, the approaching aircraft fly about 300 meters over the town.

Raunheim is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in Germany. It is worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place leaves a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justifies the proud cultural tradition of Germany.
