Rauenberg is a town in the district of Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated 15 kilometers south of Heidelberg. It is a city in the Rhine-Neckar-region within the governmental district Karlsruhe in Baden-Wuerttemberg. It is because of the border between the upper Rhine ditch and the Kraichgau at the entrance of the fishing rod brook valley between pointing hole and Muehlhausen. Rauenberg is one of the largest viticulture municipalities of north bathing. The city is tied up traffic-technically good and is directly because of the motorwayexit Wiesloch Rauenberg of the A6.

In the Middle Ages there were two settlements in place of the today's Rauenbergs namely Wedersweiler and Ruchemberg. In the course of the reorganisation of the municipalities 1972 the neighbouring Malschenberg and the neighbour city red mountain were eingemeindet.
