Pausa is a town in the Vogtlandkreis district, a Landkreis or rural district in the southwest of the Free State of Saxony, the tenth-largest in area and sixth-largest in population among Germany's sixteen states, Vogtlandkreis’ at the borders to Thuringia, Bavaria, and the Czech Republic. Its neighboring districts are, from south clockwise, Hof, Saale-Orla, Greiz, Zwickauer Land and Aue-Schwarzenberg. The urban district of Plauen is located in the center of the district. Pausa is situated 13 kilometers east of Schleiz, town in the district of Saale-Orla-Kreis in Thuringia, Germany and 14 kilometers northwest of Plauen, a city in the Free State of Saxony, east-central Germany.
 
Tourism in Germany has expanded since the end of World War II, and many tourists visit Germany to experience a sense of European history. The countryside exhibits a pastoral aura, while its cities exhibit both a modern and classical feel.
