Pattensen is a town in the district of Hanover, a district or county in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is bounded by, from the north and clockwise, the districts of Soltau-Fallingbostel, Celle, Gifhorn, Peine, Hildesheim, Hamelin-Pyrmont, Schaumburg and Nienburg. Pattensen is situated approximately 12 kilometers south of Hanover, the capital of the federal state of Lower Saxony.
