Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. The North Sea and the Baltic Sea represent additional National Borders in the North. The official language of Germany is German and Berlin is the capital. The climate is quite pleasant with almost all variety of seasonal flavors as temperate, marine, cool, cloudy, wet winters and summers, occasional warm, tropical foehn wind and high relative humidity.

Oberhausen is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located in the Ruhr area, 35 kilometers to the north of Dusseldorf. Its population till the year 2005 was 219148, covered an area of 77.04 square kilometers. Its population density is 2845 square kilometers. Oberhausen is positioned 78 meters above sea level. It is an urban district with Dusseldorf as its administrative region. The city is a result of economic growth in the 19th century.

Oberhausen was but a rural area until about 1860, when coal mines were opened and the production of steel began to turn large areas of today's city into a huge industrial complex. Several villages merged in 1862 to make up a new town. In 1929 the nearby towns of Sterkrade and Osterfeld were incorporated. Oberhausen is a typical city of the Ruhr area, which had been growing around industries. Today the city is trying to get a new standing. In the 1990s a huge shopping mall, Centro was built on an abandoned steel works site. There is an art gallery calls Gasometer and an international award festival for short films in Oberhausen.

NRW, North Rhine-Westphalia is the largest Federal State of Germany in terms of population and economic output. It has over 18 million inhabitants, contributes about 22 percent of Germany's gross domestic product and comprises a land area of 34,083 square kilometers or 13,158 square miles. North Rhine-Westphalia is situated in the Western part of Germany and shares borders with Belgium and the Netherlands. The capital city is Dusseldorf, other major cities are Cologne, Essen, Dortmund, Duisburg, Bielefeld, Bonn, Bochum, Munster and Wuppertal.
