Nienburg is one of the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destinations in Germany. It is a town in Lower Saxony and the capital of homonymously named district. Situated on the banks of Weser River, approximately 55 kilometers to the southeast direction of Bremen, and 45 kilometers to the northwest direction of Hanover, Nienburg is the largest town in the Middle Weser region.
 
Recent investments attracted by the climate, soil, and altitude combination have transformed Nienburg into most important regions. It is positioned at a height of 28 meters above the sea level with a total land area of 64 square kilometers and has a population of 32,743 inhabitants as of 2005 census.

Presently, Nienburg experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air, town character with rich culture, high quality of life and conspicuously original history.
