Niederkassel is a town and a municipality in the Rhein-Sieg district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated on the right bank of the Rhine, roughly 10 kilometers north-west of Bonn and 15 kilometers south-east of Cologne. North Rhine-Westphalia is in terms of population and economic output is the largest Federal State of Germany. North Rhine-Westphalia has over 18 million inhabitants, contributes about 22 percent of Germany's gross domestic product and comprises a land area of 34,083 square kilometers.
