Neuenburg am Rhein is a town in the district Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald, in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. It is situated on the right bank of the Rhine, 18 kilometers northeast of Mulhouse, and 28 kilometers north of Basel. Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald is a district in the south of Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts of the town are Emmendingen, Schwarzwald-Baar, Waldshut, Lorrach and the French departements Haut-Rhin and Bas-Rhin. The district-free city Freiburg is surrounded by the district.

Baden-Wurttemberg is a state of the Federal Republic of Germany in the southwestern part of the country to the east of the upper Rhine. It is third largest in both area and population among the country's sixteen states, with an area of 35,742 square kilometers and 10.7 million inhabitants. The state capital is Stuttgart.

The state borders on Switzerland to the south, on France to the west, and on the German states of Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and Bavaria. Its principal cities include Stuttgart, Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Freiburg, Heidelberg, Heilbronn, Ludwigsburg, Ulm, Tubingen, Pforzheim and Reutlingen. Neuenburg am Rhein, due its various places of interest is one of the most visited places. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times.
