Nerchau is a municipality in the Muldentalkreis district, in the Free State of Saxony, Germany. It is located on the river Mulde, 7 kilometers northeast of Grimma and 30 kilometers east of Leipzig. The Free State of Saxony is a federal state of Germany. It has a land area of 18,413 square kilometers and a population of 4.3 million, the tenth largest in area and sixth biggest in population among Germany's sixteen states.
