Sankt Wendel is a town in the Saarland, the smallest of the German Flachenlander or area states, that is, those that are not City States. Sankt Wendel is the capital of the Sankt Wendel district, a Kreis or district in the north of the Saarland, Germany. Saarland’s neighboring districts are Trier-Saarburg, Birkenfeld, Kusel, Neunkirchen, Saarlouis and Merzig-Wadern.
 
Sankt Wendel is situated on the river Blies, a right tributary of the Saar River in south-western Germany, Saarland and north-eastern France, Moselle and approximately 15 kilometers north of Neunkirchen, the largest town and a municipality in Saarland, Germany and 30 kilometers northeast of Saarbrucken, the capital of the Saarland Bundesland in Germany.

Tourism in Germany has expanded since the end of World War II, and many tourists visit Germany to experience a sense of European history. The countryside exhibits a pastoral aura, while its cities exhibit both a modern and classical feel.
