Sankt Georgen is one of the popular destinations in Germany, well known for its beautiful countryside and the quantity of cultural related attractions. It is a town in Southwestern Baden-Wurttemberg and belongs to Schwarzwald-Baar County. Positioned at an altitude of 852 meters above the sea level, Sankt Georgen stretches over a land area of 59.85 square kilometers and listed a population of 13,719 inhabitants as of 2004.
Baden-Wurttemberg, where Sankt Georgen lies, is a one of the sixteen federal states of Germany located in the southwestern part of the country and to the east of the Upper Rhine. It is third biggest in both area and population, with an area of 35,742 square kilometers and 10.7 million inhabitants. The state capital is Stuttgart.
Presently, Sankt Georgen experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air, town character with rich culture, high quality of life and conspicuously original history. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people also combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in Germany.
