Spangenberg is one of the popular destinations in Germany, well known for its beautiful countryside and the quantity of cultural related attractions. It is a small town in northeastern Hesse and is positioned at an altitude of 200 to 530 meters above the sea level. The town stretches over a total land area of 97.7 square kilometers and has a population of 6,561 inhabitants.

In the discovered history of the town of Spangenberg, it owes its origin even before 1261, and has its mentions in the same year at about the time when the Treffurt family ruled Spangenberg. The town is known best of all for its Schloss Spangenberg, a stately home built in 1253 and the town's landmark. Also worth visiting are the half timbered buildings in the Old Town and the remains of the town's old wall, several of whose towers are still standing.

Like some of its sister municipalities and towns in the Hesse, Spangenberg is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in Germany.
