Mutzschen is a town in the Muldentalkreis district, district in the Free State of Saxony, the tenth-largest in area and sixth-largest in population among Germany's sixteen states. Muldentalkreis is bounded by, from the north and clockwise, the districts Delitzsch, Torgau-Oschatz, Dobeln, Mittweida and Leipziger Land. Mutzschen is situated 13 kilometers east of Grimma, a town in the Free State of Saxony, Germany on the left bank of the Mulde, 25 kilometers southeast of Leipzig, and 21 kilometers northwest of Dobeln  a town in the Free State of Saxony, capital of the district Dobeln and is located at both banks of the river Freiberger Mulde.               

Tourism in Germany has expanded since the end of World War II, and many tourists visit Germany to experience a sense of European history. The countryside exhibits a pastoral aura, while its cities exhibit both a modern and classical feel.
