Schleusingen is a town in the district of Hildburghausen which is in state Thuringia, situated in Germany. It is located 10 kilometers north of Hildburghausen, and 12 kilometers southeast of Suhl.
 
The Free State of Thuringia lies in central Germany and is amongst the smallest of the ountry's sixteen Bundeslander that is federal states, being eleventh in size with an area of 16,200 square kilometers and twelfth most heavily populated with 2.45 million inhabitants. The capital is Erfurt.
