Germany is divided into 16 states which are further subdivided into 439 districts and cities. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.
Schafstadt is a town in the Merseburg-Querfurt district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is situated approximately 17 kilometers southwest of Halle. It is part of the collective municipality Laucha-Schwarzeiche. Merseburg-Querfurt is a district in the south of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Its neighboring districts are Sangerhausen, Mansfelder land, Saalkreis, the district-free city Halle, the districts Delitzsch and Leipziger land in Saxony, the districts Weissenfels and Burgenlandkreis, and the Kyffhauserkreis in Thuringia.
Saxony-Anhalt is one of the sixteen federal states that make up the federal republic of Germany. It has an area of 20,447 square kilometers, and a population of 2.6 million. Its capital is Magdeburg. Lying to the northeast of central Germany, it is eighth largest in area and tenth in population among the country's sixteen lands of the federal republic. It borders on the states of lower Saxony to the northwest, Brandenburg to the east, the free state of Saxony to the southeast and Thuringia to the southwest. Schafstadt, due to its many historic events and places it has been one of the favorite destinations of visitors.
