Radegast is a small town in the district Kothen,which is in state Saxony-Anhalt, situated in Germany. It is administrated in the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Sudliches Anhalt. It is the smallest town in Saxony-Anhalt and is located about 13 kilometers south of Kothen. The city had a population of 1,246 in 2005, its area is 3.95 square kilometers, population density is 315 square kilometers and is elevated at 81 meters.
 
The city was first mentioned in the year 1244. In the centuries the ownership over the place changed for a few times, which was mentioned in a few documents. In the year 1612 Radegast became a substantial office. Culture in the city bears the imprint of club and society activities until today. The Radegast society for local history and traditional costumes takes care of the traditions. This town also has a new-built false coinery. New coins with historical motives of Radegast are prepared for collectors every year. Radegasts town history can be found at the former connection road amid Radegast and Zorbig. It is an architectural monument, called the Theure Christian. However there are a lot of other historical buildings in Radegast.
