Puttlingen is a town and a municipality in the district of Saarbrucken, which is in Saarland, situated in Germany. It is located roughly 10 kilometers northwest of Saarbrucken. Saarland is one of the 16 federal states of Germany. The capital is Saarbrucken. It has an area of 2570 square kilometers and 1.08 million inhabitants. In both area as well as population it is the smallest of the German Flachenlander area states, meaning those that are not City States that include Berlin, Bremen and Hamburg.
