Walldorf is a town in the Rhein Neckar Kreis of Baden Wurttemberg in Germany with a population of 14,445 inhabitants. Baden Wurttemberg is a state of the federal republic of Germany in the southwestern part of the country to the east of the Upper Rhine. It is third largest in both area and population among the country's sixteen states, with an area of 35,742 square kilometers and 10.7 million inhabitants. The state capital is Stuttgart.
 
Walldorf is currently best known as the city that headquarters the software company SAP that is SystemanalyseandProgrammentwicklung, but it is also the hometown of John Jacob Astor. Several of Astor's descendants in the Astor family include the Americanized version Waldorf in their names. The name of the train station is Wiesloch Walldorf. Walldorf is most famous for its white asparagus, which one can enjoy in the months of April through June. John Jacob Astor, born in Walldorf, at the time of his death the wealthiest man in the United States.
