Germany or the Federal Republic of Germany is located in Central Europe with Berlin as its capital city. The German language was once the lingua franca of central, eastern and northern Europe. Kempen is a town and a municipality in the district of Viersen, in North Rhine-Westphalia which in terms of population and economic output is the largest Federal State of Germany. Kempen is situated approximately 30 kilometers northwest of Dusseldorf, the capital city of the German Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia and 20 kilometers east of Venlo.
 
It was once a centre of textile manufacturing: silk, cotton, linen, etc. Kempen’s Administrative region is Düsseldorf and District is Viersen. As of 2006, Kempen has a population of 37,468 residents living within an area of 68.79 square kilometers and has a population density of 529 residents per square kilometer. It is situated at an elevation of 30 to 68 meters above sea level.
 
Tourism in Germany has expanded since the end of World War II, and many tourists visit Germany to experience a sense of European history. The countryside exhibits a pastoral aura, while its cities exhibit both a modern and classical feel.
