Kandel is a town and a municipality in the district of Germersheim, which is in state Rhineland-Palatinate, located in Germany. It is located near the border with France, approximately 18 kilometers north-west of Karlsruhe and 15 kilometers south-east of Landau. Kandel is twinned with the small Lancashire town of Whitworth. Also Kandel is the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde its collective municipality of Kandel, which consists of the Ortsgemeinden local municipalities such as Erlenbach bei Kandel, Freckenfeld, Kandel, Minfeld, Steinweiler, Vollmersweiler, and Winden.
 
Rhineland-Palatinate in Germanm known as Rheinland Pfalz is one of 16 federal states of Germany. It has an area of 19,846 square kilometers and about four million inhabitants. The capital is Mainz. Kandel is an attractive city with natural beauty and historical places, while traveling in Germany.
