Lohmar is a city and a municipality in the Rhein-Sieg district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The population of the city Lohmar was 31,223 in the year 2005 in an area of 65.5 square kilometers and its population density was 476 people per square kilometer. It is situated approximately 15 kilometers north-east of Bonn and 5 kilometers north of Siegburg.
 
North Rhine-Westphalia is in terms of population and economic output the biggest Federal State of Germany. North Rhine-Westphalia has over 18 million inhabitants, who contribute about 22 percent of Germany's gross domestic product in a land area of 34,083 square kilometers. North Rhine-Westphalia is located in the Western part of Germany and shares borders with Belgium and the Netherlands.
