Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. Laupheim is a city in Baden Wurttemberg in the region of Upper Swabia, situated approximately 20 kilometers north of Biberach and 20 kilometers south of Ulm on the Bundesstrabe 30. The river Rottum runs through Laupheim. It is the second largest city in the district of Biberach. The population of the city Laupheim was 19160 in the year 2006 with an area of  61.80 square kilometers and population density of 310 per kilometers. The elevation of the city is 528 meters.
 
The area in and around Laupheim has been settled from very early times onwards. Archaeological evidence shows that 15000 years ago nomadic tribes roamed the countryside. The attraction of the city Laupheim are Castle Schloss Groblaupheim, Museum of the History of Christians and Jews, Castle Park, Parish Church St. Peter and Paul, Castle Schloss Kleinlaupheim, Planetarium and Public Observatory, Laupheimer Kinder und Heimatfest and Brunnenfest.
 
In 1869, Laupheim was granted a city charter by King Karl I of Wurttemberg. In the same year, the first institute of further education, a Lateinschule, was established in Laupheim. In 1871, Laupheim, being part of the Kingdom of Wurttemberg, was incorporated into the German Empire. Laupheim is part of the constituency of Biberach for elections to the Landtag of Baden Wurttemberg as well as the Bundestag. Laupheim is home to Medium Transport Regiment 25 Oberschwaben and Support Squadron 10 of the German Army Aviators Corps.

Laupheim can also be considered as the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destination that enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers to become one of the most visited places.
