Laufenburg (Baden-Wurttemberg)

Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. The North Sea and the Baltic Sea represent additional National Borders in the North. The official language of Germany is German and Berlin is the capital.

Germany is divided into 16 states which are further subdivided into 439 districts and cities. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.

Laufenburg is one of the popular destinations in Germany, and is well known for the quantity of cultural related attractions and monuments. It is a small city in Baden-Wurttemberg, and a part of the Waldshut district. The city is separated from the Swiss city by the river Rhine. The city of Laufenburg encompasses Binzgen, Grunholz, Hauenstein, Hochsal, Luttingen, Rhina, Rotzel and Stadenhausen.

The city was well placed on major rapis of the Rhine, which allowed to collect taxes as well as catch salmon. In the early 20th century, the rapids were demolished in order to build a hydroelectric power plant. The plant provided money, but the town lost its tourist attraction.

Presently, Laufenburg experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air, town character with rich culture, high quality of life and conspicuously original history. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of nature, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people also combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in Germany.
