Laichingen is a town near Ulm in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. It had 10,964 inhabitants as of 2005. Laichingen is a town in the Alb Danube circle in Baden-Wuerttemberg. Despite its small size, Laichingen is the largest city in the environment, thus it notices with Blaubeuren, the function of a central center. It is considered as the linen weber city on the Swabian Alb. Considering the geographical situation of Laichingen, it is appropriate for a subsection of the Swabian Alb on the Laichinger Alb. It is about 25 kilometers on an earlier volcanic chimney on the Albhochflaeche, west of Ulm.
The name Laichingen, is to decrease or go back on the Alemannenhaeuptling Laicho. In the middle ages, the tradition of Laichinger linen weaving mill went back. The meager soils on the Alb did not give, and so the inhabitants were shifted on the cultivation of flax and on the broterwerb. Still today many, industrial manufacturers have weaving mill enterprises in Laichingen resident. Laichingen is predominantly protestant. Beside an Evangelist church there is a catholic, Evangelist methodistische and a neuapostolische church in Laichingen. Laichingen traditionally weber enterprises resides in Laichingen.
Laichingen, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times.
