Gengenbach is a municipality in the Ortenaukreis, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany and a well-known tourist destination on the western edge of the Black Forest. In 2004, the population of the city was 11,090 and an area of 61.91 square kilometers. Gengenbach was founded in the 13th century and became Imperial Free City in 1360. Gengenbach is renowned for its conventional swabian-alemanic Carnival, the historical medieval Old Town and the world's largest Advent calendar.  

A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Gengenbach is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
