Erkner is a town in the Oder-Spree District of Brandenburg, Germany. It is located on the river Spree, 23 kilometers west of Furstenwalde and directly on the border to Berlin or Kopenick. Brandenburg is state of the city Erkner which is one of Germany's sixteen Bundeslander that is federal states. It is positioned in the east of the country as it is one of the new states formed in the year 1990 upon the reunification of the former West Germany and East Germany.
