Billerbeck is one of the popular destinations in Germany, and is well known for the quantity of cultural related attractions and monuments. It is a town in the Kreis Coesfeld County of North Rhine-Westphalia. The city stretches over a total land area of 9,093 square kilometers and has a population density of 127 inhabitants per kilometer.

The town is filled with highly active cultural life and monuments that are neoclassical, modernist, noucentrist and simply eclectic. The Opea air-theatre of Billerbeck is renowned for its high class acting. This theatre was built in 1950 by the citizens Alex Hesselmann and Bernhard Engbers.

One can also visit the roman-catholic and the evangelistic churches present. Billerbeck has grown as an important centre of tourism as it is only half-an-hour away for the 7 million people of the Rhein-Ruhr area and is also a place of pilgrimage as the first bishop of Munster died there in the year 809.

Like some of its sister municipalities and towns in the Kreis Coesfeld County, Billerbeck is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of the mountains, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important tourist attractions in Germany.
