Bernstadt auf dem Eigen is a town in the district Lobau-Zittau, in the free state of Saxony, Germany. It is situated 16 kilometers north of Zittau, and 16 kilometers southwest of Gorlitz. The free state of Saxony is a federal state of Germany. It has a land area of 18,413 square kilometers and a population of 4.3 million, the tenth-largest in area and sixth-largest in population among Germany's sixteen states.
