Bad Sooden-Allendorf is a town in the district Werra-Meissner-Kreis, a Kreis or district in the north of Hesse, which is situated in western-central Germany, bordering on, from the north-west and clockwise, the German states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Thuringia, Bavaria, Baden-Wurttemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate. Bad Sooden-Allendorf is situated on the river Werra, a river in central Germany, 11 kilometers northwest of Eschwege, a town in the state of Hesse and 33 kilometers east of Kassel, a city situated along the Fulda River in northern Hessen.
