Alsleben is a town in the district of Bernburg which is bounded by, from the north and clockwise, the districts of Schonebeck, Kothen, Saalkreis, Mansfelder Land and Aschersleben-Stassfurt, in Saxony-Anhalt which lies to the northeast of central Germany, it is eighth largest in area and tenth in population among the country's sixteen Bundeslander. It is situated on the river Saale, better known Saxon Saale or sometimes called the Thuringian Saale, tributary of the Elbe, south of Bernburg. It is part of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft or collective municipality Saale-Wipper.
 
Tourism in Germany has expanded since the end of World War II, and many tourists visit Germany to experience a sense of European history. The countryside exhibits a pastoral aura, while its cities exhibit both a modern and classical feel.
