Allstedt is a town the district of Sangerhausen, a district or Kreis in the south of Saxony-Anhalt, which lies to the northeast of central Germany and is the eighth largest in area and tenth in population among the country's sixteen Bundeslander or federal states. Allstedt is situated approximately 10 kilometers southeast of Sangerhausen. Allstedt is part of the Verwaltungsgemeinschft, a sub-divisional administrative unit, Allstedt-Kaltenborn.
