Abenberg (Bavaria)

Abenberg is a municipality in the district of Roth, in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated 9 kilometers west of Roth bei Nurnberg and 25 kilometers southwest of Nuremberg. The city Abenberg 1071 for the first time documentary mentioned as Abinberch among emperors Heinrich II. After the Second World War, in 1945-1947, Abenberg becomes the homeland of 600 selling from the Sudetenland, ore mountains, Schlesien, Pommern, East Prussia and German settlement areas in east and South-east Europe.
Abenberg is considered as example of a municipality, which made its history and its historical buildings the economical basis for their future planning. The population of the city was 5,800 and an area of 48.39 square kilometers. The railway station Roth is 10 kilometers away and station Schwabach is 12 kilometers away from the city.
