Wolfenbuttel

Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. The North Sea and the Baltic Sea represent additional National Borders in the North. The official language of Germany is German and Berlin is the capital. The climate is quite pleasant with almost all variety of seasonal flavors as temperate, marine, cool, cloudy, wet winters and summers, occasional warm, tropical foehn wind and high relative humidity.

Germany is divided into 16 states which are further subdivided into 439 districts and cities. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.

Wolfenbuttel is one of the most celebrated and preeminent destinations in the German history. It is a town in Lower Saxony and is located on the banks of the Oker River, about 13 kilometers south of Brunswick. The city has a total land area of 78.46 square kilometers with a population of 54,538 inhabitants as of 2005 census and population density of 695 inhabitants per square kilometer.

Wolfenbuttel was first mentioned in 1118 century as the water castle Wulferisbutle. The first settlement was probably restricted to a tiny islet in the Oker River. Later, it became the residence of the dukes of Brunswick in 1432. The city has some main memorial sights that include the baroque Schloss. Today part of this building is used as a school, and the former state apartments are open to the public as a museum. The Herzog August Bibliothek library in the city has one of the largest and best-known collections of ancient books in the world. It is especially rich in bibles, incunabula, and books of the Reformation period, with some 10,000 manuscripts.

Presently, Wolfenbuttel experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well-being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of Germany. This fact has consolidated along with other adjacent municipalities, as a great alternative for residence.
