Volklingen

Volklingen is a town and a municipality in the district of Saarbrucken, in Saarland, Germany. It is situated near the border with France, on the river Saar, approximately at 10 kilometers west of Saarbrucken. The town is known for its industrial past, with its facilities and ironworks being collectively declared by UNESCO, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as a World Heritage Site. The population of the city as of 2005 was 40,967.
