Sindelfingen is about 15 kilometer towards the southwest of Stuttgart, Germany. It has an economy fueled mostly by the automobile industry, especially by a factory run by Daimler Chrysler. The city has about 60,000 residents in all. In the middle ages, it was home to a weaving industry and from that today there are still many fashion firms. The communities Maichingen and Darmsheim were incorporated in 1971. Its population is 61,269 with a density of 1,204 per square kilometer. The total area of the city is 50.85 square kilometers. The neighboring cities to Sindelfingen include Boblingen, Stuttgart and Leonberg.
 
Sindelfingen main sights include old city hall, now the city museum, powerline-branch Maichingen, Zweigart-Sawitzki Bridge, high-based pylons, transmitter tower Fuchsberg and many more. Until 1987, there was a Volksfest each summer in Sindelfingen. It was given up, because the site where it took place was required for a county garden exhibition. Until now, there is no appropriate site for such an event in Sindelfingen. Film producer, director and author Roland Emmerich was born in Sindelfingen. Wizo is a punk rock band from Sindelfingen.
 
Presently, Sindelfingen experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well-being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of Germany.
