Sankt Ingbert is a town and a municipality in the Saarpfalz district, in Saarland, Germany. It is situated approximately at about 10 kilometers from the northeast of Saarbrucken and 10 kilometers from southwest of Neunkirchen. In 2005, Sankt Ingbert’s population was 38,659. It is an old industrial town, but most of its heavy industries of coal, steel, glass have closed. Saint Ingbert is named after the Irish saint, Saint Ingobert and belonged for 300 years to the electorate of Trier.
