Russelsheim
Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. Russelsheim is the largest town in the Grob-Gerau district in the Rhein-Main region of Germany. In year of 2004, the city has population 59,576 inhabitants. The city has an area of 58.3 square kilometers with a population density of 1,022 per square kilometer. It is one of seven special status towns in Hessen and is located on the Main, only a few kilometers from its mouth in Mainz. The suburbs of Bauschheim and Konigstadten are included in Russelsheim. Russelsheim has attained international recognition through the presence of the car manufacturer Opel.
The culture of city included the Russelsheim theatre that provides 865 seats in stalls and tiers. The theatre’s programming consists of plays, concerts, operas, operettas, musicals, ballets and dancing. The Russelsheim Museum, which was designated in 1980 with the Council of Europe’s museum award as a Model Museum, focuses in particular on the development of labor procedures and labor conditions from prehistory to the present. The Fachhochschule Wiesbaden is an advanced technical college which has a branch in the town of Russelsheim. The city has recreational and sports facilities such as event spaces Walter-Kobel-Halle, swimming pools, stadiums and boathouses. Russelsheim features a large number of clubs also. Some of them are members of national and international leagues.
Presently, Russelsheim experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well-being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of Germany. Russelsheim, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place.
