Memmingen
Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. Memmingen is a town in the Bavarian administrative region Swabia in Germany. The district-free town is situated at the border to Baden-Wurttemberg, at the river Iller. The town is located at the western border of Bavaria at the river Iller, 50 kilometers south of Ulm, and 30 kilometers north of Kempten im Allgau. The landscape or region beginning with the city is called Unterallgau and forms a part of the Allgau.
Memmingen has significant tourist interest, mostly because large areas of the medieval old town survived both World War II and the tasteless post-war reconstruction, which has ruined many extra German cities. The old town contains many fascinating houses of patricians, some in the elaborate style. Tourist attractions include Stadtbach River, surviving sections of town wall and a medieval market place and a town hall built in renaissance manner. Also prominent is St. Martin's church, built in gothic style.
A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, luxurious hotels and cottages, Memmingen is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
