Lehrte is a town in the district of Hanover, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately at about 17 kilometers to the east of Hanover. The population of the city in 2005 was 44,149. The area of the city is 127 square kilometers with a population density of 347 per square kilometer. The city of Lehrte is elevated at about 62 meters from above the sea-level.
