Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.
 
Kerpen is a municipality in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It has a population of 63,992 in 2002, about 30 kilometers southwest from Cologne. The city of Kerpen was created in 1975, when the earlier independent municipalities Blatzheim, Buir, Manheim, Kerpen, Modrath, Turnich, Bruggen, Balkhausen, Sindorf and Horrem were merged together. Recently Kerpen has become more well-known as being the hometown of the catholic priest and social reformer Adolph Kolping and the Formula One racing drivers Michael Schumacher and his brother Ralf Schumacher.

A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Kerpen is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
