Kaufbeuren is an independent city in the Regierungsbezirk of Schwaben, southern Bavaria. The city is entirely enclaved within the district of Ostallgau. In 2004, the population of the city was 44,180 and an area of 40.02 square kilometers. The district includes Kaufbeuren, Hirschzell, Kemnat, Neugablonz, and Oberbeuren.
 
Their various cultural and objects of interest are such as Funfknopfturm, townhall, Crescentiakloster, historic old town with partially conserved, historic city wall, St.-Martins-Kirche, St.-Blasius-Kirche, Hexenturm, Gerberturm and Pulverturm. The Tanzelfest is a festival, which takes place regularly at the end of June. Children play the history of their town. It is a city with endless recreational opportunities, rich history, and modern day luxuries.
