Offenbach

Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. The North Sea and the Baltic Sea represent additional National Borders in the North. The official language of Germany is German and Berlin is the capital. The climate is quite pleasant with almost all variety of seasonal flavors as temperate, marine, cool, cloudy, wet winters and summers, occasional warm, tropical foehn wind and high relative humidity.

Offenbach is a city in Hessen, Germany, located on the river Main. Its population in 2002 was 119.233 and in 2005 it was 119,616. It covered an area of 44.9 square kilometers and population density is 2,664 per square kilometers. It varies 97 to 166 meters above sea level. The city is a part of the Rhein-Main metropolitan area. Offenbach was a center of the leather industry, which has however declined in the last decades. It is still the seat of the Deutsches Leder Museum and also of the international leather fair. It is also the seat of the Deutscher Wetterdienst. It is also home to the soccer club Kickers Offenbach and their stadium Bieberer Berg.

Offenbach is part of the S-Bahn Rhein-Main-System with six S-Bahn stations namely Offenbach-Kaiserlei, Offenbach-Ledermuseum, Offenbach-Marktplatz, Offenbach-Ost, Offenbach-Bieber and Bieber-Waldhof. Until the early 1970’s Offenbach had an important machinery industry and leather industry. Offenbach was also a center of typography and today it is a popular location for all kind of services, especially from the automotive and design sector. There are many famous places in the city like, German Leather Museum, Klingspor Museum, museum of typography and calligraphy and municipal historical museum.

Offenbach, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place. Presently, Offenbach experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well-being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of Germany.
