Goppingen




Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. Germany is divided into 16 states which are further subdivided into 439 districts and cities. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.
 
Goppingen is a town in southern Germany and is a part of the Stuttgart Region of Baden-Wurttemberg. It is the capital of the district of Goppingen, which is situated at the bottom of the Hohenstaufen Mountain, in the valley of the Fils River. It is assumed that it was established by an Alemannic leader known as Geppo in the 3rd or 4th century.
 
A fire, which broke on August 25, 1782 destroyed most of Goppingen, but was built right away. Industrialization during the ninteenth century made Goppingen a central place of the industry. The significance of this industry is seen in the current period in companies like Marklin and Schuler. It also has its personal sports club, where Frischauf Goppingen plays in the German first handball-division.
 
Also highly impressing are the highly acclaimed light art installations in Goppingen. It is regarded as among the most beautiful parts of Germany, it is one of the most visited places amongst the most die-hard travelers the world over.
