Goslar




Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. The North Sea and the Baltic Sea represent additional National Borders in the North. The official language of Germany is German and Berlin is the capital. The climate is quite pleasant with almost all variety of seasonal flavors as temperate, marine, cool, cloudy, wet winters and summers, occasional warm, tropical foehn wind and high relative humidity.
 
Goslar is a historic town in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is the administrative centre of the district of Goslar, which is located on the northwestern slopes of the Harz hills. It had a population of 42,811 inhabitants as per the census of 2005. The Kahlerberg and Schalke region of Goslar is 2,382 feet high within its municipal boundary with the lowest point being 574 feet near Oker. It geographically forms the boundary between the Hildesheim which is part of the Northern German Plain and the Harz Range. It is the highest northern extension of the Middle German Mountain Range.
 
Goslar’s Hildesheim Downs are characterised by plains with rich clay soils. It is generally used for agriculture of beetroot farming. It is linked with many hill ranges known as the Hildesheim Forest and Salzgitter Hills. On the South of the Harz Mountains, the historic borough is at a height of 2,083 feet. Forestry dominates its landscape and three rivers cross its municipal boundary, Oker River, Abzucht River and the Gose River. The Gose River is approximately 3.2 miles on south-west of Goslar at the Auerhahn pass in the Harz Mountains.
 
The town centre of Goslar serves as a regional shopping centre to the Northern Harz region. Here department stores, several supermarkets, eloquent boutiques and restaurants can be found. Once weekly, there is also a market, where farmers sell their local produce. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
