Erkrath

Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. The North Sea and the Baltic Sea represent additional National Borders in the North. The official language of Germany is German and Berlin is the capital. The climate is quite pleasant with almost all variety of seasonal flavors as temperate, marine, cool, cloudy, wet winters and summers, occasional warm, tropical foehn wind and high relative humidity.

Germany is divided into 16 states which are further subdivided into 439 districts and cities. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.

Erkrath is a German city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages. It is also one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers. It is the part of the Mettmann district, in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, situated on the banks of Dussel River. It is also bordered to the east with Dusseldorf and to the west with Wuppertal close to the famous Neandertal.

Erkrath was founded in the 1148 century and received the city rights in 1966. In 1975, the municipality of Hochdahl was incorporated into Erkrath. Today, the city has three local parts including Erkrath, Hochdahl and Unterfeldhaus. In the nearby Neanderthal, between Erkrath and Mettmann, in the summer of 1856, the quarry workers discovered the fossilised remains of what became known as the Neanderthal man or Homo Neanderthalensis in Feldhof cave.

Presently, Erkrath experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well-being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of Germany. This fact has consolidated along with other adjacent municipalities, as a great alternative for residence.
