Bergkamen



Germany is located in Central Europe and it shares borders with Denmark in the North, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France in the West, Austria and Switzerland in the South and Poland and the Czech Republic in the East. The North Sea and the Baltic Sea represent additional National Borders in the North. The official language of Germany is German and Berlin is the capital. The climate is quite pleasant with almost all variety of seasonal flavors as temperate, marine, cool, cloudy, wet winters and summers, occasional warm, tropical foehn wind and high relative humidity.




 


Germany is divided in 16 states which are further subdivided into 439 districts and cities. Germany is one of the largest European economy and the third largest economy in the world in real terms, placed behind the United States and Japan, and fifth behind the United States, China, India and Japan counted by purchasing power parity.



 


Bergkamen is a town and a municipality in the district of Unna, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located close to river Lippe, approximately 15 kilometers north-east of Dortmund and 15 kilometers south-west of Hamm. Bergkamen is a new town in the East part of the Ruhrgebiet and south of the Munsterland, which was founded in 1966 by the merging of 6 smaller communities. The town‘s history, reaches back to ancient Roman times and can be experienced by visiting the Bergkamen Municipal Museum. It has a large Roman department, and the nearby archeological site, the Roemerlager.



 


Bergkamen is a lively town, open to new experiences and ideas that are well-known throughout the region for its many cultural events. The events like the Harbour Festival in June or the Light Festival in October are prominent. Furthermore, Bergkamen‘s theatre performances at the studio theater, Bergkamen and many exhibitions in the town‘s own art gallery and the Stadt museum inspire lots of visitors. Also highly impressing are the highly acclaimed light art installations in Bergkamen. As it is often regarded as among the most beautiful parts of Germany, it is one of the most visited places amongst the most die-hard travelers the world over.
