Albstadt is a city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages. It is located in the Swabian Alb, about halfway between Stuttgart and Lake Constance and is a part of the district of Zollernalbkreis in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.
 
Albstadt is the biggest city in the Zollernalbkreis district and has an elevation of 733 meters above the sea level with an area of 134.41 square kilometers. As of the 2005 census, the city possesses a population of 47,677 inhabitants and a population density of 347 inhabitants per square kilometer. It belongs to the Raichberg region, where there is a transmitter and observation tower.
