Traben-Trarbach is a town and a municipality in the district Bernkastel-Wittlich, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located on the river Moselle, roughly 15 kilometers east of Wittlich and 5 kilometers north-east of Bernkastel-Kues. Traben-Trarbach is also the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde meaning collective municipality and consists of Ortsgemeinden meaning local municipalities that include Burg, Enkirch, Irmenach, Lotzbeuren and Starkenburg.  
 
Rhineland-Palatinate is one of 16 Bundeslander that is federal states of Germany. It has an area of 19,846 square kilometers and about four million inhabitants. The capital is Mainz.
