Pottenstein is a town in the district of Bayreuth, in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated 23 kilometers from southwest of Bayreuth and 26 kilometers from east of Forchheim. The Free State of Bavaria, with an area of 70,553 square kilometers or 27,241 square miles and 12.4 million inhabitants, forms the southernmost state of today's Germany.
Bayreuth is a district in Bavaria, Germany. It surrounds, but does not include the city of Bayreuth. The district is bounded from the north and clockwise the districts of Kulmbach, Wunsiedel, Tirschenreuth, Neustadt or Waldnaab, Amberg Sulzbach, Nurnberger Land, Forchheim and Bamberg.
